ADS Networking Linux Stack
6WINDGate™ ADS Networking Linux Stack
implements all the kernel modules of 6WINDGate™ solution
including IPv4/IPv6 stack, IPsec, QoS management, multicast forwarding,
filtering, VLAN, L2 tunnelling.
6WINDGate™ ADS Architecture
It can run either on a single processor or multi-core
architectures thanks to its SMP capabilities and therefore provides
a large range of performance. Using 6WINDGate™ ADS Networking
Linux Stack, OEMs can immediately scale up or down on performance
and functionalities without investing in a Fast Path technology.
Of course, it can be upgraded with Fast Path features later on by
upgrading 6WINDGate™ ADS Linux stack to SDS.
We have implemented the first SMP Linux Kernel
asynchronous IPsec stack with OCF (Open Crypto Framework) which
scales on CPUs from single to 16 cores (or more) while removing
the spinlocks and bottlenecks of the Linux kernel. Performance rates
demonstrate throughput at 80 Mbps for low-end processors, 380 Mbps
(1 MIPS64 core) to 2.5 Gbps (16 MIPS64 cores) of IPsec traffic with
dynamic SA negotiated by IKE.
Overall, 6WINDGate™ Linux solutions have
been designed to be progressive and seamlessly scalable in performance,
functionality and licensing. This means lower upfront investment
for OEMs who license only what they need to be able to immediately
exploit the processing power, with:
- A hardened networking stack for Open Source or commercial
Linux, tightly embedded with dual-IP networking protocols, unicast
& multicast forwarding, tunnelling, IPsec using built-in crypto
processors, stateful firewall, QoS, NAT, and VNB patented framework
designed to easily integrate new interfaces such as WiMax or L2
protocols
- Immediate and seamless integration into their existing
Control Plane, and
- Easy extension, replacement and/or renewal eventually
of their Control Plane with 6WINDGate™ add-on modules for
connectivity, routing,
Mobile IP, security and IPv6 transition (click for supported RFCs);
all modules are delivered with 6WIND's full XML-based management
system.
